Vegetable Soy Peas Pulao

Ingredients:

  • One cup  Basmati rice 
  • A dozen soy  chunks. 
  • Quarter cup frozen green peas. 
  • One cup milk. 
  • One cup water. 
  • Two finely chopped onions. 
  • Four chillies sliced lengthwise. 
  • Ginger garlic paste.  
 

Seasonings:

  • Half teaspoon jeera.
  • Half inch long stick of cinnamon.
  • Two cloves.
  • One bayleaf.
  • Two cardamoms.

Preparation:

  • Soak soy chunks in warm water for ten  minutes till they look larger and softer.
  • Heat four teaspoon of oil and two teaspoon of ghee in a pan.
  • Saute the seasonings above till a faint aroma  comes.
  • Add the onions  and ginger garlic paste and continue till they turn golden.
  • Add water and milk and heat slightly.
  • Add washed Basmati rice, green peas and soy chunks.
  • Cook the mixture in a rice cooker.
  • Garnish with cashew nuts and caramelized onion rings.
